Lewis Addison Armistead was a United States Army officer. He became a brigadier general in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War.
He led his brigade as part of the famous Pickett’s charge to the farthest point reached by Confederate forces during the Battle Of Gettysburg on July 3 1863.
