British Airborne

The 1st British Airborne Division was formed in late 1941 with 6th Division being formed in 1943.                                                                                        Initially used to carry out raids into occupied Europe during Operation Biting and Freshman, they saw action in Tunisia, Sicily, Italy  and the D Day Landings (6th Division) and Operation Market Garden (1st Division). 6th Div also took part in The Battle of The Bulge and Operation Varsity and the crossing of the Rhine.
